4 FIREFIGHTERS FLOWN OUT IN PA AFTER GAS EXPLOSION

     

Friday, March 4, 2016  Four firefighters were injured in a house explosion in Littlestown, Adams County on Friday morning.It happened at 372 Lexington Way.

Officials say the residents called their gas company to notify them of an odor of gas before the fire broke out. They also notified the fire department.

When fire officials arrived on the scene, an explosion occurred inside the home, injuring at least two firefighters.

The fire is the fourth serious blaze in two weeks in Adams County.

Early Thursday morning, a Littlestown man was killed in a mobile home fire along Frederick Lane in Germany Township. Investigators said some aspects of the fire appeared to be suspicious. Police have not yet identified the victim. Officials said they would have to use dental records.

Last Friday, Jean Walter, 90, was killed in a fire in Cumberland Township along Water Works Road.

On Feb. 20, Walter Thrift III was killed in an apartment fire on the 100 block of Queen Street in Littlestown.
