ILLINOIS POLICE OFFICER KILLED IN CRASH WITH RESPONDING AMBULANCE

     

Sunday, March 6, 2016  We regret to pass on to you that a South Jacksonville Police officer has died in the Line of Duty after being involved in a traffic crash during a call late last night.Officer Scot Fitzgerald was responding to an EMS call on Illinois Route 267 about 2100 hours when he pulled onto the shoulder and then made a U-turn while trying to find a reported medical emergency. As he started to turn, his car went into the path of the EMS ambulance responding to the same call.

Three persons on the ambulance were transported including EMS driver Brady S. Milnes, 21, and crew members Christopher Barfield, 44,  and Stacey Reyes, 40. We’ll post more on our home page later. Our condolences to all those affected. RIP.
